This Grilled lamb chops recipe is a succulent and flavorful dish that is sure to impress your family and friends. While grilling traditionally involves cooking over an open flame outdoors, you can achieve similar delicious results by using your oven. Now here’s how to make the best grilled lamb chops!
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs Lamb chops (about 1 inch thick)
- 2 Avocado oil/Olive oil
- Fresh parsley (Chopped)
- 5 Garlic cloves (minced)
- 1 tsp Paprika
- 1/2 tsp Smoked paprika
- 3/4 tsp Onion powder
- 3/4 tsp Salt
- And most of all a pinch of love
Instructions
In a small bowl, combine salt, onion powder, and smoked paprika. Place the lamb chops in a shallow dish and pour avocado oil, minced garlic, chopped herbs, and marinade the meat, then sprinkle mixture. Make sure each chop is coated evenly. Allow the chops to marinate for at least 4-24 hours.
Preheat and Prepare the Oven:
Preheat the oven to 425°, grease the grill, then place it at the bottom of the oven, this will give the lamb chops that charred look. Meanwhile, take the seasoned lamb chops out of the refrigerator and let them come to room temperature for about 20-30 minutes. This will ensure even cooking.
Grill the Lamb Chops:
Place the cast iron grill at the bottom of the oven, do this before you turn it on, this will give the lamb that charred grill look.
If no grill, a cast iron pot will work just as fine. This will help air circulation and prevent excessive moisture. Arrange the lamb chops on the grill or pot, leaving some space between each chop for even cooking.
Cooking Time:
Remember to turn the chops over after 3 minutes on each sides. After that, reduce the oven temperature to 350 degree and allow the lamb to cook for another 10-12 minutes. Occasionally flip them.
The cooking time for lamb chops depends on their thickness and desired level of doneness. As a general guideline, for medium-rare lamb chops, cook them for about 12-15 minutes. For medium, increase the cooking time to 15-20 minutes. Internal temperature should be 140 degrees or higher for consumption.
Once the lamb chops are cooked to perfection, remove them from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes. This resting period allows the juices to redistribute, resulting in tender and juicy meat. Serve the grilled lamb chops with your choice of sides, such as roasted vegetables, shrimp, or a fresh salad.
